March 22nd, 2025

Garderen, Netherlands

Give yourself the gift of presence, slowness, and time. Join me on a half-day retreat in which we will tune into nature's wisdom and set intentions for the coming months.

Spring is a time of balance and new beginnings. The Spring Equinox marks the moment when day and night are of equal length—balancing light and dark, dormancy and energy, winter and spring. It is a time to plant seeds, literally and figuratively, and watch them sprout.

For many of us, our physical energy increases at this time of year. The outside world seems to follow suit—our workdays and social calendars become busier as the days become longer. But the beginning of spring is also the perfect time to slow down and tune into your intentions.

What is calling your attention? What do you want to grow over the coming months?

If we surrendered

to earth's intelligence

we could rise up rooted, like trees.

Rainer Maria Rilke

What you
can expect

We will gather in an ancient forest in the Netherlands, where we will tune into our bodies, our minds, and the wisdom of the forest. We'll spend some time exploring our intentions and the figurative 'seeds' we want to plant this spring. We'll spend some solo time in nature absorbing the wisdom that the forest has to offer us. And we will ceremonially plant our seeds before we depart.

There will be time for sharing, for reflecting, for art, and for play.

Who it's for

  • Anyone feeling busy or overwhelmed with life & work

  • Folks who struggle to set aside dedicated time for themselves

FAQs

What is the best way to get there?

Klimbos Garderen is most easily reached by car. For those without a vehicle, you can take the train to Putten and then take Bus 107, which stops just next to Klimbos Garderen. I will also be happy to connect folks after registration to coordinate carpooling options!

What do I need to bring?

The majority of the retreat will be spent outdoors, rain or shine. So pack waterproofs (tops and bottoms) and wear good outdoor shoes or boots. It is also suggested to bring your own lunch or snacks (light snacks will be provided, but not a full lunch.) You'll need a journal and pen/pencil and a water bottle. A full list of what to bring will be shared after registration!

What level of physical fitness is required?

There will not be any strenuous activity during the retreat, but a general level of basic fitness is helpful. We will be walking 1-2km, in some places on uneven ground, and we will also spend some time sitting on the ground. (You are more than welcome to bring a camp chair or stool with you, if you like!)

How many people will be in the group?

There is space for max. 8 participants on this retreat. The event will go ahead as scheduled with a minimum of 4 people.

Do I need to prepare anything in advance?

There is no set 'pre-work' for this retreat, and no prior experience required to join! Everyone is welcome. You'll receive some prompts and questions to reflect on ahead of time, but it's also fine to just show up on the day without any prior preparation.

Will lunch be provided?

No, a full lunch will not be provided so you are asked to bring a packed lunch and/or snacks. Light snacks, coffee, and tea will be provided in the second half of the retreat when we move indoors.

Are there other things to do in the area?

Yes, absolutely! The Veluwe is a wonderful region to explore, and there are plenty of great activities for both adults and families. Upon registration, you'll receive some additional suggestions of things to do (and places to stay) in the area should you wish to make a weekend of it. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you'd like to know more before booking: christina@liminal-stories.com

What happens if I can't make it?

Unfortunately I am unable to offer refunds after booking in most cases. If you cancel in advance and I am able to fill your spot on the retreat, then I will be happy to offer you a 75% refund.
